Job description

The Cost Control Engineer plays a crucial role in the construction and building industry, particularly in managing project costs and ensuring financial efficiency. This position requires a keen analytical mindset and a strong understanding of construction processes. The primary objective is to monitor, control, and report on project costs, ensuring that projects are completed within budget. The Cost Control Engineer collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to provide accurate cost estimates, track expenditures, and implement cost-saving measures. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of construction projects and contributing to the overall success of the organization.


Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain project cost control systems to track budget and expenditures.
  2. Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
  3. Monitor project progress and analyze variances between actual and budgeted costs.
  4. Provide regular financial reports and forecasts to project management.
  5. Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies for improvement.
  6. Collaborate with procurement teams to ensure cost-effective purchasing of materials and services.
  7. Assist in the preparation of change orders and claims management.
  8. Conduct risk assessments to identify potential financial impacts on projects.
  9. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Minimum 7 years of experience in UAE construction projects preferably in High Rise projects
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  4. Proficiency in cost estimation software and tools.
  5. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  7. Experience in the construction industry is highly desirable.
  8. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  9. Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  10. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  11. Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
