Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Civil Inspector - Utilities to join our team in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive inspections of utility infrastructure and systems to ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards. You will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to maintaining the highest safety and quality standards across utility operations. While the role focuses on civil works for wet utilities (water, drainage, sewer), you will coordinate with dry utilities stakeholders where applicable.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine, scheduled, and complaint-based inspections of utility infrastructure, with primary emphasis on water distribution, stormwater/drainage, and sewerage networks; coordinate with electrical, gas, and telecommunications stakeholders as applicable to interface points.
• Document inspection findings in detail and prepare comprehensive, accurate inspection reports using established protocols and software systems.
• Identify code violations, safety hazards, maintenance deficiencies, and areas requiring immediate attention or remediation.
• Verify compliance with local UAE regulations, industry standards, and established safety protocols during all inspections.
• Coordinate with maintenance, repair, and operations teams to communicate findings and recommend corrective actions.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date inspection records, databases, and documentation for audit and reference purposes.
• Respond promptly to stakeholder complaints and service requests by conducting follow-up inspections and investigations.
• Provide technical recommendations for system repairs, upgrades, or replacements based on inspection findings.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and stakeholders to ensure adherence to utility service standards.
• Participate in training programs to stay current with evolving regulations and inspection best practices.
• Plan and execute inspections in operational environments with restricted access, aligning activities with site safety, permit-to-work requirements, and operational windows typically associated with logistics or freight-adjacent corridors.
• Handle sensitive information discreetly and maintain confidentiality regarding project scope, operations, and locations.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in utilities inspection, infrastructure assessment, or related field
  • Strong technical knowledge of utility systems including water, electrical, gas, and telecommunications infrastructure
  • Experience working on a freight facility
