Job Description:

This is a role within the Castrol organization, and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership.

It's more than just oil. It's liquid engineering. Castrol provides all the oils, fluids and lubricants the world needs, for every driver, every rider and every industry.

Castrol is here to serve every driver, every motorcyclist and every industry on earth. We do this through Liquid Engineering. That means crafting high performance oils, lubricants, fluids and greases for every application you can imagine. We also know that you need every part of your world to run efficiently, so we lubricate every part of the car or motorcycle you own, the escalators at your local shopping mall, the elevator at your office, and even the production line that made your refrigerator.

We are here for you in the world's mines and quarries, its cruise ships and airliners, its wind farms and wheat fields. Whatever you need, we help make it happen.

About the role

We are looking for a commercially minded Business Development Manager (CVO/HD/Industrial) to grow our presence in the Heavy Duty and Industrial space.

This role sits at the intersection of strategy, sales, and market insight. It focuses on building strong customer and partner relationships, identifying where growth will come from next, and turning those opportunities into sustainable revenue.

Success in this role comes from combining a deep understanding of the industrial landscape with a practical, hands-on approach to business development and account growth.

What you will deliver

You will shape and grow a portfolio of key accounts while identifying new routes to market. The role blends commercial thinking with execution, covering everything from market insight to deal closure.

  • Build clear account plans that drive growth and strengthen market position
  • Spot new opportunities through market and customer analysis, then convert them into business
  • Use a consultative approach to understand customer needs and position relevant solutions
  • Focus on high-value segments by analyzing customer profitability and potential
  • Track competitor activity and market trends to adjust approach where needed
  • Lead forecasting and demand planning to keep plans realistic and actionable
  • Work closely with marketing, product, and other teams to stay aligned and move faster
  • Strengthen partner relationships to expand reach and unlock new opportunities
  • Negotiate effectively to secure strong commercial outcomes without relying on discounting

What you will need to be successful

This role requires a mix of commercial judgement, industry knowledge, and the ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments.

  • Experience in business development or sales within lubricants, CVO, Heavy Duty, Industrial, or closely related sectors
  • Strong track record managing accounts and growing revenue
  • Confidence working with data, including market insights and profitability analysis
  • Ability to translate customer needs into practical, value-led solutions
  • Solid understanding of industrial market dynamics and competitive landscapes
  • Experience working across teams and aligning different stakeholders
  • Comfortable operating in a changing environment and adjusting priorities when needed
  • Strong negotiation skills with a focus on value creation
  • Experience with forecasting, planning, and partner management
