An Associate Designer works under guidance to develop skills and technical knowledge to become a Designer professional. Aids the Design team under supervision and partners senior staff producing acceptable solutions for internal and external customers. In this role, the Associate Designer builds an understanding of functional ingredients, flavoring materials, end uses and customer bases. Manages assigned projects with supervision from the team leader/manager.

• Understands key steps in projects from receipt to execution, with supervision


• Takes responsibility for creative project tasks within a project, under supervision


• Exposure and awareness of GRA, legislation restrictions and its impact on development of solutions recommendations


• Builds and acquires design language, and articulates with others in the team


• Refines and familiarizes Flavor and Ingredients portfolios search and selection techniques, plus accesses other systems supporting design when required


Introduction to IFF Innovation Programs and core technologies


• Understands basic ingredient functionality and flavor performance in different finished products and incorporates technology appropriately


• Able to operate effectively using IFF software and database.

• Develops understanding of competition landscape in terms of portfolios and market segmentation


• Acquires an understanding of broad business strategy and dynamics


• Broadens business understanding of other functions, including: production, quality control, sales and marketing and consumer insights



What Makes You the Right Fit?


• Minimum 1-3 years of experience within in the area of taste design, flavors and food markets.


• BA in Food Sciences/ Food Technology or similar technical background.


• Ability to interact with other functions: Production, Quality Control, Sales and Marketing and Product Experience (PX)


• Builds cross-functional networks locally and regionally


• Follow the organization's health, safety, and environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and mandatory instructions to identify and mitigate risks and to safeguard the environment and the well-being of self and others


• Develop knowledge and understanding of the organization's policies and procedures and of relevant regulatory codes and codes of conduct to ensure own work adheres to those standards. Obtain authorization from a supervisor or manager for any exceptions from mandatory procedure.
