The College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine at the UAE University seeks an Assistant/Associate Professor in Economic Entomology to join the Department of Integrative Agriculture. The successful candidate will contribute to teaching, research and community service in the areas of insect biology, integrated pest management, insect ecology and applied entomology with a focus on agricultural systems.


Minimum Qualifications:


The candidate should have experience delivering undergraduate and graduate courses in the required field of expertise and related subjects. He/she should be able to supervise students research projects and theses. The candidate will play a key role in strengthening the departmentâs teaching programs and advancing research addressing pest management, insectâplant interactions, biological control, pollinator health and the impact of insects on food security and sustainability in arid regions.


Experience/Skills:


The selected candidate will hold a permanent faculty position (teaching, research, and community service). Primary responsibilities will include teaching lecture and laboratory courses in entomology and pest management, advising undergraduate students and supervising graduate-level research.


Preferred Qualifications:


Preference will be given to candidates with experience in integrated pest management (IPM), sustainable crop protection, insect taxonomy, environmentally friendly pest control strategies relevant to arid and semi-arid environments, plant pathology and the use of modern tools and technologies in applied entomology.
