Stand engine room watch as per schedule and ensure safe and efficient operation of all machinery.
Monitor main engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors, and dredging equipment during watch.
Maintain proper logbook entries and report any abnormalities to the Chief/2nd Engineer.
Assist in operation and maintenance of dredge pumps, jet pumps, and associated systems.
Ensure correct parameters (pressure, temperature, levels) are maintained within safe limits.
Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance of engine room equipment.
Assist in bunkering operations and fuel/lubricant management.
Respond promptly to alarms and take corrective actions during emergencies.
Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping of engine room spaces.
Follow Planned Maintenance System (PMS) and safety procedures onboard.
Assist in overhauling of machinery, valves, and auxiliary systems.
Ensure compliance with MARPOL and environmental regulations.
Coordinate with deck department during dredging and discharge operations.
Participate in safety drills and emergency preparedness activities.
Ensure safe isolation and permit-to-work procedures are followed during maintenance.
Basic & Advanced STCW training Certificates & Medical.
Certificate of Competency as officer in charge of Engine room Watch.
5-10 years experience onboard Dredger.
