Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chief Engineer to execute the implementation of the maintenance schedule and spare parts requirements in accordance with plans and technical specifications
  • Assist the Chief Engineer in ensuring optimal and safe performance of the vessel by operating and maintaining the engine room in the most effective way. During the night shift, be operationally and responsible
  • Work and act according to defined policies and procedures of the Technical Department
  • Report to the Chief Engineer on work done/performance, issues, and (preventive) maintenance requirements
  • Ensure and provide guidance in the execution of basic and instant repairs onboard
  • Provide the Chief Engineer with input on the day-to-day performance of equipments onboard
  • Ensure and monitor compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) requirements in the engine room
  • Report to the Chief Engineer on any failure or maintenance requirements that may affect the performance of the dredge
  • Work efficiently and constructively in cooperation with technical staff, Senior Dredge Masters, and operational crew
  • Implimentation of a preventive maintenance program for marine engines/engine room and other equipment, including related marine equipment
  • Provide guidelines to junior staff on QA/QC and HSE reports/recommendations
  • Identify hazards and cordinate with superiors for Rectification. 
  • Follow information and Observations from the HSE Department
  • Make recommendations to the HSE Department
  • Ensure correct receipt of items in pickings list and proper storage of received items.
  • Ensure all maintenance activites (planned/unplanned) are recorded in oracle via work orders; and ensure that these work orders are  closed correctly accordingly.
  • repare daily, weekly and Monthly reports related to the Dredger and Communicate with all concerned
  • Capable of performing all duty of Watch keeping (Day/Night) and able to take decesion in critical situation to Mitigate any risk or failure machineries of the Vessel.

This is a generalist view of a job that you have been assigned. At times, you will be asked to do above and beyond the scope of this role due to operational requirements



Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in marine/mechanical engineering.


Minimum 5 years' experience as W/K Engineer onboard Dredgers.
