Responsibilities:
  • Assist the Chief Engineer and 1st Engineer in the safe and efficient operation of all engine room machinery and systems onboard the dredger.
  • Maintain continuous engine room watch as per assigned schedule, ensuring all parameters are within operational limits.
  • Monitor and operate main engines, auxiliary engines, pumps, compressors, and dredging support machinery.
  • Carry out routine inspections, fault diagnosis, and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment.
  • Ensure proper functioning of hydraulic systems, dredge pumps, and pipeline systems critical to dredging operations.
  • Record engine room parameters, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities in logbooks accurately.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, taking corrective actions as required.
  • Assist in bunkering operations, ensuring safe fuel transfer and compliance with procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness and housekeeping standards in the engine room and machinery spaces.
  • Follow company safety policies, PMS (Planned Maintenance System), and international maritime regulations.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair works during breakdowns and planned maintenance periods.
  • Coordinate with deck team during dredging operations to ensure uninterrupted production.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, including MARPOL requirements.
  • Participate in drills, safety meetings, and continuous improvement initiatives onboard.

Qualifications:

Basic & Advanced STCW certification.


License as 2nd Engineer officer (Without Limitation)


5 years Rank experience on Dredger.
