Job description

Title:

UABOS Turkey LN: Structures Supervisor

Belong, Connect, Grow, with KBR!

Program Summary

KBR supports the operational needs of U.S. armed forces at Morón Air Base in Spain and several bases in Turkey. Our services ensure smooth operations, allowing Air Force and government personnel to focus on their missions. We provide program management, civil engineering, morale, welfare, and recreation support, among other essential services. Awarded by the Air Force Installation Contracting Center, our contract spans a five-year base period with three one-year options, reflecting our commitment to excellence and operational support.

Job Summary

The Structures Shop Supervisor will lead and manage structural maintenance, repair, and minor construction activities across the installation — ensuring facility integrity, code/compliance adherence, timely preventive & corrective maintenance, and support to mission-critical operations. The Supervisor ensures assets meet lifecycle requirements, supports readiness, and integrates structural shop output within the broader base maintenance program. This aligns with KBR’s base-wide facility management and asset sustainment mission under contract.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, mentor, and lead the Structures Shop workforce (carpentry, masonry, roofing, metal fabrication, general structural trades).
  • Develop shop work schedules (daily/weekly/monthly), assign tasks, prioritize jobs (preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance, minor construction), and allocate personnel/equipment accordingly.
  • Ensure coordination with other base shops (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, pavements, etc.) and the Customer Service Unit (CSU) to deconflict work sequences and minimize mission impacts.
  • Oversee execution of PM and CM tasks: structural repairs, building envelope (walls, roofs, doors/windows), interior fixtures (drywall, ceilings, finishing), walkways, railings, canopies, shelters, and other real-property structural elements.
  • Review and interpret work orders, plans, specifications, and drawings; provide technical guidance and quality direction to structural crews.
  • Manage shop assets: tools, equipment, vehicles; ensure proper accountability, maintenance, and safe usage.
  • Implement quality control / quality assurance (QC/QA) processes for shop-performed work and oversee inspections as required by contract or force-protection protocols.
  • Lead safety programs: risk assessments, job hazard analyses (JHAs), PPE enforcement, safe work practices (e.g., fall protection, confined spaces).
  • Provide status updates and KPIs to management (e.g., PM compliance rate, backlog, labor utilization, work-order closure rate).
  • Coordinate with project management, asset management, contract oversight (COR/QA), and other stakeholders to integrate structural shop output into base-wide maintenance and recapitalization efforts.
  • Support external inspections and audits; prepare documentation, track corrective actions, and help ensure installation-wide compliance.
  • Support contingency tasks as required under contract or directed by base leadership, ensuring minimal disruption to base operations.
  • Identify training needs, ensure personnel maintain required skills and certifications, and enforce compliance with recurring training requirements.
  • Daily use of planning, organizational, multitasking abilities, and communication with a focus on detail, accuracy and quality of work and to coordinate work across multiple disciplines and stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

  • Turkish Citizen
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in structural maintenance, building trades, carpentry, masonry, roofing, or related structural building disciplines — ideally within a DoD/air-force or contractor facility-management environment.
  • Candidates must possess a relevant Turkish technical diploma or MYK-certified trade qualification (e.g., İnşaat Teknolojisi, Ahşap Teknolojisi, Metal Teknolojisi, MYK Level 3/4 Carpenter, Mason, Roofer, Welder, or equivalent).
  • At least 2 years of supervisory experience over a multi-trade maintenance or structural shop crew (foreman, WS-series supervisor, shop lead, or equivalent).
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written) to coordinate with U.S. base leadership, contract staff, and other shops.
  • Valid driver’s license if required by the contract; ability to obtain required installation access and security credentials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working under a U.S. military contracting environment (e.g., previous UABOS or Base Operations Support contract).
  • Familiarity with U.S. Air Force facility maintenance requirements, base-level asset management practices, and facility sustainment lifecycle methodologies.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms used under UABOS contracts (e.g., TRIRIGA, Maximo, or equivalent).
  • Ustalık Belgesi (Master Tradesman Certificate) in carpentry, masonry, welding, roofing, or general construction.
  • Kalfa / Journeyman Certification for structural or building trades.

All positions require the applicant to obtain and pass a medical physical that is certified by a doctor.

All positions require a current and favorable Turkish Security background check.

All male candidates must have completed their military service.

KBR Benefits

Local Nationals (LN) personnel will receive benefits in accordance with the collective labor agreement (CLA) within the appropriate country location where they reside. KBR supports career advancement through professional training and development.
