Air Freight Director

We are looking for an experienced Air Freight Director who will lead our air freight operations in Turkey with a strategic mindset, operational excellence, and strong commercial focus.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing end-to-end air freight import & export operations while leading teams, developing customer and airline relationships, and contributing to the overall growth of the business.

Your Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all air freight import, export, and charter operations across Turkey
• Drive operational excellence by improving efficiency, service quality, and profitability
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with airlines, overseas agents, GSAs, and key customers
• Manage commercial and procurement activities to secure competitive rates and service levels
• Monitor and manage departmental KPIs, budgets, and P&L targets
• Ensure operational compliance, documentation standards, and customs procedures are maintained
• Lead, coach, and develop Air Freight teams across multiple locations
• Collaborate closely with Commercial / Sales, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to support business growth
• Support the expansion and development of DP World’s Air Freight network in Turkey
• Closely follow market trends, customer expectations, and industry developments

Your Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, International Trade, or a related field
• Minimum 10 years of experience in air freight / freight forwarding industry
• At least 5 years of leadership experience at manager or director level
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end air freight import & export operations
• Proven experience in P&L management, budgeting, and commercial growth
• Strong airline, agent, and customer relationship management skills
• Strong leadership, people management, and organizational development capabilities
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Fluent in English
• Flexibility to travel when required
• IATA certification or equivalent air freight qualifications are considered an advantage
