Accounting Team Leader

We are searching for an Accounting Team Leader who will be part of the Record to Report – Intercompany (RTR-IC) Team and will directly report to the Head of Accounting.

Key Tasks

• Ensure complete, accurate, and timely submission and approval of all tax declarations (VAT, WHT, CIT) in line with statutory deadlines
• Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring smooth execution
• Supervise and oversee accounting activities, including account reconciliations, balance follow-ups, and maintenance of accurate TB and control reports
• Lead and support the team in resolving day-to-day operational issues, including complex reconciliations and reporting challenges
• Review and control ad-hoc accounting requests and journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and accuracy
• Coordinate with GSC (Global Service Center) to ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end closing and FA activities
• Handle medium to high complexity accounting topics, including reporting and internal control–related matters
• Analyze accounting processes to identify efficiency opportunities and implement improvements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial or team leadership role
• Strong knowledge of Turkish Tax Legislation (VUK) and IFRS
• Experience in VAT refund processes is considered an asset
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
• Strong command of MS Office applications (especially Excel); experience with CargoWise and ERP is a strong asset
• Very good level of English (verbal&written)
• Strong people management and coaching skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders
• High level of analytical thinking and problem-solving ability
• Strong planning, prioritization, and time management skills
• Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Resident in Istanbul
