Human Resource Generalist – Manufacturing (Sfax)
Reporting Line: Reports to Country HR Manager
Job Summary
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for performing and administering core human resources activities within a manufacturing environment in Tunisia. The role ensures the effective application of HR policies, compliance with Tunisian labor legislation and applicable collective agreements, and contributes to stable employee and labor relations. Working in coordination with specialized recruitment and payroll teams, the HR Generalist acts as a key HR contact at site level, supporting operational needs while aligning with country HR direction.
Key Responsibilities
Implement and ensure consistent application of HR policies, procedures, and internal regulations in compliance with the Tunisian Labor Code, company standards, and textile collective labor agreements.
Act as a primary point of contact for employees and supervisors on general HR policies, procedures, and workforce-related matters.
Support recruitment activities in coordination with dedicated recruiters, including interview coordination, onboarding processes, and employment documentation.
Support payroll processes by ensuring accuracy and timeliness of HR data related to attendance, absences, overtime, and employee records, in coordination with the payroll function.
Manage employee relations matters related to attendance, leave, discipline, and workplace issues, ensuring legal compliance and proper documentation.
Contribute to effective labor relations by coordinating with management and union representatives (UGTT), supporting social dialogue and grievance handling as required.
Perform training coordination, including scheduling, tracking, and maintenance of training records in line with site and legal requirements.
Perform HR reporting and workforce documentation, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance with legal and audit standards.
Maintain accurate personnel files and HR systems data in accordance with confidentiality and data protection requirements.
Participate in HR initiatives and continuous improvement activities aligned with country HR priorities and site needs.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Law, Business Administration, a related field or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of professional HR experience, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment in Tunisia.
Experience working in a unionized environment and exposure to collective labor agreements is preferred.
Skills & Competencies
Solid knowledge of Tunisian labor law, HR administration, and employee relations practices.
Strong ability to operate in an operational, production-driven environment.
Excellent command of the English, French languages, both written and spoken.
Strong communication, coordination, and organizational skills.
High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and collaborate effectively with country and site HR stakeholders.
