Take on a new challenge and apply your software development expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside innovative and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and verifying software solutions for complex systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Software Managers, Program Managers, Lead Architects, and Tech Leads), contribute to software specification and architecture, and much more.

You’ll also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and help drive innovation in our software development processes.

You’ll specifically take care of designing and implementing software in collaboration with the software architect, but also coaching junior developers to facilitate their growth and development.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Designing and implementing software in collaboration with the software architect

  • Collaborating within the team and across the business to support and innovate

  • Thriving in a multicultural and multilingual environment with cross-functional teams

  • Documenting software architecture

  • Coaching and mentoring junior developers

  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Development Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, or Computer Science

  • Knowledge of software development and the software development life cycle

  • Experience in software development and architecture

  • Deep understanding of the .NET framework and advanced proficiency in writing C# code

  • Experience with ASP.NET, Blazor, SQL databases, microservices, and message brokers is a plus

  • Knowledge of additional programming languages such as Python, C++, and Rust is a plus

  • Familiarity with Linux and command-line tools

  • Working knowledge of writing software documentation

  • Proactive mindset with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Adaptability to learn and apply new tools, techniques, and processes in a continuous improvement environment

  • Good spoken and written English

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our agile and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards senior technical or leadership roles

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!

Important to note
