MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
House Parents are at the heart of our boarding community, combining warmth, flexibility, and initiative to foster a nurturing and inspiring environment. They are mentors, role models, and leaders who ensure students feel secure and supported while embracing opportunities for personal growth.
This dynamic role requires a proactive and positive approach, as House Parents lead by example—whether through participating in activities, encouraging students to discover their passions, or helping manage day-to-day operations of the boarding house. By setting the standard in enthusiasm and resilience, House Parents inspire students to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
SKILLS AND COMPETENCES
Previous experience working with children or young people.
A proactive and positive mindset, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage administrative tasks and maintain accurate records.
A genuine enthusiasm for boarding life, including leading and participating in student activities.
A collaborative spirit and ability to build meaningful relationships within a diverse team and student body.
A valid driving license, as occasional transportation of students is expected.
A proactive attitude toward personal and professional development.
You are an energetic, enthusiastic, team player, but also resistant to pressure and well organised. You have a good sense of humour and believe in positive and respectful relationships. You have excellent interpersonal skills, especially with students. Your level of English is excellent. experience in working with children and young people is a prerequisite. You will be exhausted at the end of the day, but the rewards will be extraordinary!

TERM AND CONDITION
As a Part-time House Parent you work one day per week and one weekend every other week. Accommodation and meals in a Boarding House will be provided when on duty. You need to have your own accommodation for your days off.Please note that applications are open to European citizens or holders of a Swiss work permit.
ESSENTIAL INFORMATION
It is important that the post holder is always aware of Child Protection guidelines and observes a professional distance from students whilst still developing effective working and caring relationships.
You understand and embrace the importance of diversity and inclusion and stand against discrimination in any form. Background investigations and reference checks for the past ten years will be conducted during the selection process.
