We are hiring a Staff Software Engineer to join our Quick-Commerce Global Services team in Barcelona to support the Delivery Hero Group's ecosystem with unique technologies.
In this role, you'll have the unique opportunity to combine Glovo's vibrant, fast-paced culture with the reach and complexity of the Delivery Hero Group, one of the world's largest local delivery platforms. You'll be part of a Central Team based in Barcelona, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build scalable solutions that support the entire global ecosystem of the Group.
You will work on our next-generation platform to not only provide groceries for our hungry customers but also other daily urgent needs like drinks, fruits, snacks but also batteries.
You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineering leaders, and leadership across Q-Commerce.
You will be part of a cross-functional team focused on the onboarding and early stages of our vendors.
Troubleshoot issues, Identify complex problems and analyze potential solutions including workarounds as well as provide timely fixes.
You will work in a goal-driven environment.
7+ years of experience in developing backend applications using Java and/or Kotlin.
Experience with commonly used observability tools for monitoring/alerting/logging/ distributed tracing, such as Grafana, Prometheus, and Datadog.
Experience with message brokers (SNS/SQS, Kafka, or Pub/Sub).
Rigor in high code quality, automated testing, and other engineering best practices.
Raise the collective level of expertise within the team, focusing on best practices, design patterns, and system design.
Be a leader and a model, setting high standards for engineering excellence, performance, scalability and security by example and mentorship
Drive technological improvements through RFCs or other tools to explain, discuss and align decisions, paving the future of our solutions.
Assist domain leads in setting the technical vision and strategy.
Lead the creation and improvement of scalable and reliable systems.
Experience leading initiatives that involve multiple squads or stakeholders.
Fluent English communication skills.
