2. JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
Summary of the main purpose of the job as the basic function and scope of the job in terms of organization, geographic
areas supported, financial or other volume/size metrics, strategic impact and nature of supervision received or exercised
related to the job in a descriptive manner
The Work Preparator, Blasting and Painting is responsible for carrying out and executing the given task in the
most efficient way within the given time frame in accordance with IMI rules and regulations for Health, Safety,
Environmental and Quality policies.
3. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Areas of Accountabilities (list up to 10 prime activities)
(Describe concisely each principal work activity listed in logical order normally the list with include the most important duty
first indicating important decision and recommendations made if applicable; start sentences with action verbs first)
Follow all IMI Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality policies.
Review project tender for pre-planning.
Attend pre-arrival meeting.
Raise requests for consumables.
Attend work identifications with superintendents and owners rep.
Prepare initial area agreements and sign off.
Prepare work scope sketches.
Collect required drawings for area calculation and confirmation.
Monitor daily progress and update as required.
Attend daily project meetings.
Prepare all final documentation and sign off.
Manhours estimation and monitoring
Liaises with Ops project controls for information required/submittal
4. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education Minimum SSLC
Degree or Diploma in the relevant field.

Proven experience of work preparation within a shipyard
environment.
Proficient in AutoCAD and relevant software.
Competencies
(Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Good knowledge of shipyard production processes.
Good understanding of engineered drawings, (shell expansion)
Assessing resource requirements.
Good knowledge of blasting standards
Good knowledge of paints and methods of application.
Good knowledge of hydro-blasting standards.

Knowledge of equipment.
Working in harsh environment.

Experience Minimum 3 – 6 years in MRO environment for Degree holders
