Job description

Summary

Performs Clinical Nuclear Medicine (CNM) diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.



Essential Responsibilities and Duties
  1. Reviews exam requisitions and protocols, ask questions to supervisors as needed, and prepare for the exam.
  2. Performs imaging with focus on patient care, quality, and efficient time management. Communicate with CNM physicians to ensure satisfactory images.
  3. Prepares and perform quality control checks on radiopharmaceuticals, including chemical purity and calibration checks.
  4. Adheres to physician’s orders, select appropriate radiopharmaceuticals and dosages, and consult with the physician as needed.
  5. Explains procedures to patients, administer radiopharmaceuticals, conduct studies, and report any issues to the supervisor.
  6. Observes radiation safety protocols, including protective shielding, proper handling, and disposal of radiopharmaceuticals.
  7. Report equipment malfunctions or repair needs, and document testing and study procedures.
  8. Participates in in-service training, continuing education, and the PI Process. Assist in training and evaluating students, interns, and trainees.
  9. Ensures compliance with hospital, radiation safety, and national regulations, including ALARA principles and quality improvement programs.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Medicine/Radiological Sciences/Technology for Saudi Nationals or Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program (minimum 2 years) for non-Saudi is required.                                                          



Experience Required

Grade 08:



Two (2)years of related experience with Bachelor’s Degree, or four (4) years with programs is required.



Grade 09:



  • Four (4) years as Technologist, Nuclear Medicine at KFSH&RC, or(Grade 08) related experience is required.
  • Average of annual performance appraisal at least (3.5) for the lastfour (4) years.
  • Fifty (50) hours of cumulative continuedmedical education [CME].                                                                   
Other Requirements(Certificates)
  • Current Registration from country of origin andSaudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCHS) is required.
  • Must be certified as Nuclear MedicineTechnologist including one of the following: NMTCB, ARRT, ASCP or CAMRT orequivalent for non-Saudis.
