JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE
1. Workers will perform the hull construction work at the P.E & Dock area until the time of launching and delivery. 2. Workers comply with the regulation of safety and be involved in preventing safety accidents. 3. Workers follow the instructions of managers and safety teams unless there is a safety concern. 4. In shipyard, shipwright is the process of measuring, adjusting, and settling the blocks on the PE or on the dry dock with extreme precision for accurate fit-up and welding works. 5. Manage the vessel to be built with the same geometry as the drawing. ➔ Use the measuring device to set the erected block to the correct position. ➔ in charge of the hull supporting block arrangement work. 6. Manage block setting to ensure that fit-up works can be performed appropriately. 7. Manage and control the accuracy of hull construction. 8. Management and marking of various marks. (draft mark, ship name, BHD mark etc..)
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Create a safe working environment. ➔ Keep clean, ensure that proper lightening, passage, extinguisher, ventilation. Tidying up working cable. 2. Comply with safety regulations. ➔ Comply with working standards. ➔ Thoroughly wear and use safety equipment. 3. Actively participate in safety checks and toolbox meetings. 4. Perform assigned tasks within the specified time.( Meeting deadlines) 5. Performing duties under the direction of the manager. ➔ Prohibition of work by the arbitrary judgment of the operator. 6. Performing work after qualification.(proper welding qualification) 7. Work after checking drawings and WPS standards.
➔ Workers need drawing comprehension skills. 8. Know how to check and operate the equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education Diploma degree or equivalent qualification (Welding apprentice)
Professional Qualifications (Certifications & Accreditations)
• Certified 2G,3G welder (ABS/Class Certified).
• Optional abilities : Skid loader driving license, Folk lift driving license → a couple of ship wright workers need these abilities.
Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
• Familiar with the common welding types : shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), flux cored arc welding (FCAW) • 2G, 3G qualified.
• Need to have a professional cutting skill.
• Experience in using measurement tools.(3D measurement, theodolite etc..)
• Inspecting materials, welding equipment and tools.
• Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (such as face- shield, gloves etc.,)
• Understanding of various welding processes, Weld symbols, Weld maps, as well as cutting and grinding and gouging operations.
• Must not have acrophobia, claustrophobia. • Good oral communication skills in English.
Experience
• At least 11-15 years’ experience in the Shipyard/Ship repair Industry.
Languages
• Good Communication Skills (oral and written) in the English Language.
