2. OVERALL JOB PURPOSE:


Inspect, test, repair, and maintain (discipline specific) plant and operations equipment/machinery (routine, ad-hoc, emergency and strategic maintenance) to ensure continuous integrity, and sustainable and safe operation


3. QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:

1. High school certificate


2. Maths and Science desirable


3. Trade test + 1 Year experience as Artisan (subject to personal performance)

* Execute repairs/modifications: dismantle, fix and reassemble of machines/equipment
* Examine workpieces for defects and ensure conformance with specifications and safety requirements

* Execute discipline specific artisan work during projects
* Plan layout and installation of equipment/machinery/fixtures
* Prepare and maintain records, detailing tests, repairs and/or maintenance
* Consult manuals, schematics, flow diagrams and engineering personnel to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and to determine optimum equipment functioning
* Analyse test data to diagnose malfunctions, to determine performance characteristics of systems and/or to evaluate effects of systems modifications
* Strict adherence to safety codes, regulations, rules and procedures
* Read and comply to work orders and specifications to determine machine/equipment requiring repair or maintenance
* Identify correct parts needed for replacements and repairs and timely order following correct procedures
