Lead the design, review, and supervision of mechanical systems for complex construction and infrastructure projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and building services, and will be responsible for ensuring all mechanical systems meet project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
Duties and responsibilities Lead the mechanical engineering design process including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems.
Prepare and review mechanical system designs, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.
Coordinate mechanical designs with other engineering disciplines and architectural teams.
Conduct design reviews, value engineering, and feasibility studies as needed.
Ensure all designs comply with relevant international and local codes and standards.
Provide technical oversight and support during procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Review submittals, shop drawings, and material approvals for compliance with design intent.
Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify proper execution of mechanical works.
Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior engineers and team members.
Support project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation from a mechanical perspective.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, with over 7 years of relevant experience.
Master’s Degree (MSc) in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university, with over 5 years of relevant experience.
Strong technical knowledge in HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and mechanical systems design.
Familiarity with international standards and codes such as ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, and ISO.
Proficiency in relevant engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, Elite, or similar.
Solid understanding of sustainable design and energy efficiency principles.
Strong communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
