Design, supervise, and manage irrigation systems for landscaping and agricultural projects.
The ideal candidate will ensure that all irrigation designs are efficient, sustainable, and aligned with project specifications and environmental standards.
Duties and responsibilities Design efficient irrigation systems tailored to project needs, climate, and plant species.
Prepare detailed irrigation layouts, hydraulic calculations, and material specifications.
Coordinate with landscape architects, civil engineers, and other disciplines to integrate irrigation systems into overall designs.
Conduct site inspections to ensure proper installation and operation of irrigation systems.
Evaluate water sources and determine appropriate irrigation methods and schedules.
Optimize water use through advanced irrigation technologies and automation systems.
Prepare technical reports, BOQs, and operation manuals.
Ensure compliance with local regulations and international standards.
Troubleshoot system issues and propose improvements.
· Supervise contractors and provide technical guidance during construction and commissioning.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Agricultural Engineering, Irrigation Engineering, or a related field from a recognized university with over 7 years of relevant experience.
Master’s Degree (MSc) in a related discipline with over 5 years of relevant experience.
Strong knowledge of irrigation design, hydraulics, and water management systems.
Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and hydraulic modeling tools.
Familiarity with smart irrigation technologies and environmental sustainability practices.
Excellent problem-solving and project coordination skills.
Strong communication and technical reporting skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Knowledge of relevant standards such as FAO, ASABE, or local municipal codes.
