Lead the design, review, and coordination of electrical systems on large-scale engineering and construction projects.
The ideal candidate will bring both technical expertise and leadership capabilities, ensuring that all electrical works meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and performance.
Duties and responsibilities Lead the design, specification, and coordination of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, ELV, and standby power systems.
Review and approve electrical engineering drawings, calculations, and submittals.
Coordinate with architects, other engineers (MEP, structural, civil), and project stakeholders to integrate electrical systems into overall designs.
Perform site inspections and provide technical support during construction to ensure compliance with approved designs and relevant codes.
Evaluate and select appropriate materials and equipment in accordance with project specifications.
Participate in value engineering and technical workshops to optimize designs and cost-efficiency.
Monitor and review the work of junior engineers and consultants, offering guidance and quality assurance.
Ensure designs adhere to international and local electrical codes and safety regulations.
Prepare technical reports, documentation, and client presentations as required.
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills Bachelor’s Degree (BSc) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university, with over 7 years of relevant experience.
Master’s Degree (MSc) in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university, with over 5 years of relevant experience.
Strong understanding of electrical design principles, standards, and best practices.
Experience with building services and infrastructure projects, including commercial, residential, or industrial developments.
Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux, or similar design and analysis programs.
Familiarity with relevant international codes and standards (e.
g., IEC, NEC, IEEE).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Effective communication skills and the ability to lead coordination with multi-disciplinary teams.
Strong documentation and report-writing skills.
