Job Description

Position Summary


The Production Engineer will support day‑to‑day plant operations at the Rabigh manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality production of chemical products. The role involves process optimization, troubleshooting, production planning support, and coordination with maintenance, quality, and supply chain teams.


Key Responsibilities


1. Production Operations


  • Oversee daily production activities to meet output, quality, and safety targets.
  • Monitor process parameters and ensure compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Coordinate with supervisors and shift operators to ensure smooth production flow and resource availability.
  • Ensure adherence to Sika’s manufacturing standards and safety regulations.

2. Process Improvement & Optimization


  • Analyze production processes to identify areas for efficiency improvement.
  • Implement Lean and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, downtime, and variability.
  • Participate in root‑cause analysis for process deviations and equipment failures.
  • Support scale‑up of new formulations in collaboration with R&D and quality teams.

3. Quality Assurance & Compliance


  • Ensure all products meet Sika quality specifications and compliance standards.
  • Work closely with QA teams to investigate non‑conformities and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate production records, batch files, and documentation required for audits.

4. Maintenance Coordination


  • Assist in identifying equipment-related issues and coordinate with the maintenance team for corrective and preventive activities.
  • Support maintenance planning to minimize unplanned downtime.

5. Production Planning & Reporting


  • Monitor raw material consumption and coordinate with supply chain for timely replenishment.
  • Support production scheduling to optimize equipment utilization and meet customer demands.
  • Prepare daily and monthly production reports including outputs, variances, and KPIs.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in a manufacturing/chemical production environment (construction chemicals preferred).
  • Strong understanding of mixing, batching, and chemical production processes.
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, process optimization, and root‑cause analysis tools.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (SAP preferred) and familiarity with production reporting.
  • Strong communication and cross‑functional coordination skills.
