Principal Static Equipment Design Engineer

Overall Summary



A Principal Mechanical Engineer with proven experience in design and specification of Experience in the designing of other static equipment such as Vessels, Heat exchangers, Tanks and Columns and Reactors in the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, offshore, and/or infrastructure industries. Experience in FEED and detailed engineering of medium to large scale projects required. A minimum of 15 years’ experience is required.




Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead a team of up to 10 mechanical engineers and designers
  • Develop discipline work plan
  • Review/check equipment data sheets and specifications
  • Perform technical studies such as compressor configuration studies, driver selection and life cycle cost studies, specialty equipment configuration studies, material handling studies, RAM studies, etc.
  • Evaluate technical bids
  • Perform packaged equipment reviews
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the project team, including the Clients, in rotating equipment.
  • Responsible for design integrity of mechanical scope, performance of assigned staff, on-schedule delivery of the work within budget.

Qualifications & Years of Experience:




Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, or related field, and a minimum of 15 years’ experience in the Oil & Gas, hydrocarbon, petroleum refinery, offshore, and/or infrastructure industries.




Key Skills & Technical Competencies:



  • Have 15+ years of extensive experience in designing other static equipment such as Vessels, Heat exchangers, Tanks and Columns and Reactors
  • Knowledge of applying value engineering concepts in the design of Columns and Reactors
  • in the fields of Oil & Gas Production/Refinery/ Petrochemical industries.
  • Experience in the designing of other static equipment such as Vessels, Heat exchangers, Tanks and Columns and Reactors
  • Knowledge of applying value engineering concepts in the design of Columns and Reactors
  • Sound knowledge in the design of internals of the above equipment
  • Have experience in FEED & Detailed Design types of projects; Experience in revamping and upgrade of columns and reactors will be an added advantage.
  • Have deep knowledge of ASME SEC VIII Div 1 & Div 2
  • Have sound knowledge in the selection of materials and Corrosion Control Measures for Columns and Reactors
  • be capable of leading a team of engineers in the design of Columns & Reactors
