Job Purpose
The Principal Specialist, BU Data Domain is the owner of a specific Business Unit data domain, accountable for the semantic integrity, governance, quality, and fitness‑for‑purpose of all data products produced from that domain.
The role ensures that BU data and relevent digital initiative is transformed into trusted, governed, and reusable data products aligned with enterprise standards, while still reflecting the operational and decision‑making realities of the Business Unit. This position acts as the single point of accountability for domain definitions, KPIs, ownership, and data quality outcomes.
The Principal Specialist represents the domain in enterprise data forums, aligns with cross‑domain standards, and ensures the BU’s data products integrate cleanly into enterprise reporting, analytics, and control frameworks.
Key Accountabilities
Minimum Qualification, Experience and Competencies
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Management, or related discipline
Master’s degree or equivalent domain experience is an advantage
Minimum Experience
10+ years of experience within a Business Unit domain, data, analytics, or enterprise information management
Demonstrated experience owning domain definitions, KPIs, and data quality outcomes
Proven ability to influence senior business and technical stakeholders without direct authority
Skills:
Domain‑driven data ownership and KPI definition
Data governance and stewardship operating models
Data quality management and remediation leadership
Strong business–technical translation capability
Ability to align local domain needs with enterprise standards
