Lead iOS and Android development using React Native and TypeScript; set standards for code quality, testing, and reviews.
● Architect scalable, maintainable mobile solutions (state management, navigation, caching, offline-first and analytics).
● Deliver pixel-perfect UI from Figma with high-quality animations and consistent behaviour across devices.
● Own mobile release management: CI/CD, OTA updates (where applicable), store submissions, and post-release monitoring.
● Collaborate with backend teams on API contracts, performance, and reliability; ensure robust error handling and observability.
● Mentor and support engineers through sprints, planning, estimation, technical guidance, and 1:1 coaching.
● Report weekly to the Head of Engineering on progress, risks, and roadmap delivery.
Must-have requirements ● 7+ years building mobile apps with 3+ years of production React Native experience at scale.
● Strong TypeScript and JavaScript fundamentals; proven ability to write clean, well-structured code (not just glue code).
● Deep mobile fundamentals: performance profiling, memory management, networking, offline storage, and app lifecycle.
● Hands-on experience with mobile CI/CD and release pipelines (Fastlane, EAS, GitHub Actions/Bitrise/CircleCI, etc.
). ● Experience with OTA updates and feature flagging strategies.
● Excellent understanding of iOS/Android UX patterns and App Store / Play Store requirements.
● Leadership experience guiding a remote or cross-functional team; strong communication and accountability.
Nice-to-have ● Expo (managed workflow) and EAS build experience.
● Node.js API familiarity (to collaborate effectively with backend teams).
● Advanced UI/graphics work (e.
g., maps/GPS, charts, OpenGL/Canvas, animation-heavy experiences).
● Experience in fintech, loyalty, e-commerce, delivery/logistics, gaming or high-traffic consumer apps.
● PostgreSQL knowledge and data modelling awareness (helpful for end-to-end thinking).
