Context

We are currently looking for a qualified Mechanical Engineer(Design Services) to work on a major Riyadh Metro rail project. His major concerns are related to HVAC and smoke management systems, plumbing, firefighting, and conveying systems (escalators & elevators), and he will be part of a specialized technical group whose work includes the assessment and review of conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs for the major rail project and related structures, including underground,at-ground, and elevated stations and other transportation-related buildings. This position is to be based at Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.



Missions/Main Duties
  • Undertaking design review of drawings, calculations and specifications covering HVAC, smoke ventilation, Plumbing, Firefighting & Conveying System (Escalators & Elevators) preferably in Metro rail transit and other transportation-related infrastructure.
  • Reviewing of design calculations for HVAC system including Heat Load, Chiller capacity, Pressure drop calculations for chilled water system, Duct design calculations, External static pressure calculations, Exhaust system calculations, Fresh air calculations, Stair case pressurization calculations, Smoke exhaust system calculations etc. using ASHRAE standards and latest available software.
  • Reviewing of Hydraulic calculations, pump sizing & system pipe sizing for Domestic water system,hot water system, central filtration system ,Firefighting pumps & tank capacity for Fire sprinkler system , firefighting dry and wet hydrant systems and drainage system using latest available software .
  • Reviewing mechanical and architectural Design Drawings, structural drawings, combined services coordinated drawings & Shop Drawings in relation with MEP scope.
  • Reviewing method statements for installations, for HVAC, smoke management system, Plumbing, Firefighting & Conveying System.
  • Reviewing, Coordinating & finalizing field design changes.
  • Preparing presentations, design reports & functional reports as per the instructions of the Line Manager
  • Reviewing of Material specifications, list of manufacturers, available suppliers and general
    specifications.
Profile/Skills
  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in design and or reviewing design, installation, testing and
    commissioning for MEP systems for similar Projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of international standards such as NFPA, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NPC, IBC, ASME,ANSI, MSS etc.
  • Detailed understanding of materials and equipment selection
