Job Purpose
To lead the development and deployment of the Operational Excellence strategy specifically for the RAK Chemical Complex (SAP, PAP, Ammonia, DAP, Utilities). This role addresses the "Span of Control" challenge by providing focused technical leadership to the downstream chemical assets. The Manager is accountable for optimizing conversion efficiency, energy consumption, and quality within the RAK plants, guiding a specialized team to eliminate waste and deliver a significant portion of the enterprise 500M SAR impact target.
Key Accountabilities

Strategic & Financial Leadership (RAK Region) 


Complex Value Stream Analysis: Conduct detailed analysis of the chemical manufacturing value stream (Ammonia to DAP) to identify energy losses, conversion inefficiencies, and quality giveaways.


Financial Impact Governance: Validate and track financial benefits for RAK-based projects, specifically focusing on energy cost reduction (Ammonia) and yield improvement (DAP). 


Strategic Prioritization: Manage the improvement portfolio for RAK, ensuring that capital projects and Kaizen events are aligned with the site’s profitability drivers.


Program & Methodology Execution


Deploy Standardized Framework: Implement Lean Six Sigma rigor within the chemical plant environment, focusing on process variability reduction and control room standardization.


Develop Site Capabilities: Build a network of improvement practitioners within the RAK workforce, certifying engineers and operators in continuous improvement methodologies.


Governance & Stakeholder Management 


Site Steering Committee: Chair the RAK Productivity Council to review initiatives with RAK Asset Vice Presidents and Managers. 


Operational Cadence: Facilitate regular performance dialogues focused on chemical process metrics (Specific Energy Consumption, On-Stream Factor).


Talent Development: 


• Foster a culture of technical excellence and innovation, encouraging the team to apply advanced process control and digital solutions to problem-solving. 


Cross-Departmental Influence: Break down silos between production, maintenance, and technical services within the RAK complex.


Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: 


• Report progress specifically on RAK assets to the VP Business Improvement. 


Sustainability & Scalability: Drive initiatives that support both financial goals and sustainability targets (e.g., CO2 reduction in Ammonia).



Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies



Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, or Operations Management


Certifications: Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Master Black Belt certification is required.



Minimum Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience in operational excellence, with a proven history of leading transformations in complex environments.
