You will direct research and experiments to identify land use problems, suitable plant varieties, techniques for nursery operations; best methods for planting, spraying, cultivating, harvesting, storing, processing, or transporting agricultural/horticultural products, as well as pest/weed management.
You will provide guidance on planning & developing community projects, develops programs which will achieve quality landscaping designs, effective implementation and possible cost reduction.
You will provide guidance on programs for training staff personnel on latest agricultural/horticultural technology or methodologies including plant insect/pest control.
Study soil characteristics and develops improved measurement techniques, soil conservation methods, soil sampling devices, or other technologies are also necessary.
You will also have to design work programs for implementation by the Gardening, Landscaping and Nursery personnel.
Reviews and advises staff in the performance of their duties, preparing periodic reports for supervisory review regarding work performance.
You will coordinate & implement Integrated Pest Management programs to control horticultural & agricultural pests in all landscaped areas including residences.
Advises & instructs on plant pest control.
Conducts surveys, collects samples & studies plant pests & materials to improve control efforts.
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Landscaping or equivalent from a recognized and approved program.
8 years of experience in gardening, landscaping, agriculture or equivalent, including at least 5 years in horticulture, gardening, plantations or equivalent.
