Job Summary The HVAC Section Head oversees all HVAC systems in the pharmaceutical plant, ensuring reliable environmental control and compliance with GMP requirements.
The role manages the operation and maintenance of AHUs, fans, and the central chiller system, leads the HVAC team, and ensures optimal performance, energy efficiency, and continuous system reliability to support compliant manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities   Lead daily operation of all HVAC systems, including: AHUs, FAUs, supply and exhaust fans and local ventilation systems, ensure stable temperature, humidity, airflow, and pressure differentials in production and storage areas, monitor HVAC performance through BMS/SCADA and optimize system efficiency.
Ensure HVAC operations meet GMP, FDA, EMA, WHO, and local regulatory requirements, manage HEPA filter integrity testing, validation, and requalification schedules develop and maintain HVAC SOPs, work instructions, and risk assessments.
Plan and supervise preventive and corrective maintenance, ensure proper calibration of temperature, humidity and differential pressure, improve equipment reliability through predictive maintenance, condition monitoring and RCFA.
Lead energy conservation initiatives for HVAC and chilled water systems,Optimize chiller loading, pump curves, fan energy consumption, and heat recovery, recommend system upgrades, retrofits, or technological improvements.
Lead and develop the HVAC engineering and technician team, coordinate training on GMP HVAC operation and maintenance, assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure continuous skill development.
Lead HVAC-related capital projects, Review engineering designs, P&IDs, layout drawings, and technical submittals, ensure project execution meets timelines, budget, and quality requirements.
Maintain HVAC logs, maintenance records, and equipment history files, prepare reports on system performance, downtime, energy consumption, and compliance, support audits and provide required documentation.
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or related field.
8–12 years of experience in HVAC systems, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of cleanroom HVAC design, chilled water plants, HEPA filtration, and GMP.
Hands‑on experience with BMS systems, VFDs, chiller controls, and HVAC automation.
Proven leadership and project management capabilities.
