Job description

The HVAC Engineer is a pivotal role within the Facilities & Property Management sector, specifically focusing on the design, installation, and maintenance of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in airport facilities. This position demands a specialized understanding of the unique HVAC requirements of airport environments, ensuring optimal indoor air quality and comfort for passengers and staff. The HVAC Engineer will collaborate with various stakeholders, including architects, contractors, and airport management, to deliver efficient and compliant HVAC solutions that enhance operational performance while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement HVAC systems tailored for airport facilities, considering high occupancy and variable loads.
  2. Conduct thorough energy audits and recommend improvements to enhance system efficiency and sustainability.
  3. Oversee the installation of HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and airport regulations.
  4. Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC systems to minimize downtime.
  5. Collaborate with project teams to ensure timely and successful completion of HVAC projects within budget.
  6. Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports for project stakeholders, including regulatory compliance documentation.
  7. Stay informed about the latest HVAC technologies, industry trends, and airport-specific requirements.
  8. Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians on airport HVAC systems.
  9. Manage project budgets and resources effectively to optimize project outcomes.
  10. Ensure all HVAC systems comply with local and international building codes and airport safety standards.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Proven experience in HVAC system design and maintenance, specifically in airport environments.
  3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on efficiency.
  4. Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work with diverse teams.
  5. Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and safety in high-traffic environments.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  7. Familiarity with HVAC software and simulation tools relevant to airport operations.
  8. Strong understanding of energy efficiency standards and regulations applicable to airports.
  9. Proactive approach to continuous learning and professional development in the HVAC field.
  10. Certification from a recognized HVAC organization is highly desirable.
