A Snapshot of Your Day


As a Manufacturing Intern Technician, you will support the GIS Manufacturing team in day-to-day shopfloor activities related to the assembly, testing, and quality of Gas Insulated Switchgear products. This internship is designed to provide hands-on industrial exposure, build strong safety and quality awareness, and develop practical technical skills in a real manufacturing environment.


You will work closely with experienced technicians, production supervisors, and manufacturing engineers, gaining insight into world-class manufacturing processes and standards.


How You’ll Make an Impact


  • Support technicians in assembly and sub-assembly activities of GIS equipment under supervision
  • Assist in mechanical fitting, electrical connections, and basic inspection tasks and follow and learn from work instructions, SOPs, and job cards used in manufacturing
  • Participate in daily shopfloor activities, including 5S, safety talks, and Gemba walks
  • Support quality checks and documentation (checklists, records, and reports) and assist in testing preparation activities (mechanical or electrical, as applicable)
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working area at all times. Strictly comply with EHS rules, PPE requirements, and factory safety standards. Report abnormalities, safety concerns, or improvement ideas to the supervisor.
  • During the internship, the student will gain exposure to GIS manufacturing flow and production environment, industrial safety culture and best practices, basic mechanical and electrical assembly techniques, manufacturing documentation and quality discipline, as well as teamwork, communication, and professional behavior in a factory setting.

What You Bring


  • Currently enrolled as a Diploma student in one of the following fields: Mechanical Engineering/Mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering/Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Internship must be part of the academic curriculum
  • Basic understanding of mechanical or electrical fundamentals
  • Ability to read simple technical drawings is an advantage
  • Strong safety awareness and willingness to follow rules, good attitude, discipline, and eagerness to learn. Ability to work in a shop floor/industrial environment and be a team player with good communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office (Word / Excel) is a plus
