JOB PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE:


The main purpose of the Fire Chief/Division Head is to ensure the safety and well-being of individuals in emergency situations, particularly in relation to fire incidents both Onshore and Offshore. The division's primary function is emergency response and fire protection. They are responsible for promptly responding to emergency calls, assessing the situation, and taking appropriate actions to mitigate the risks and protect lives and property.


The scope of the job involves various tasks such as coordinating emergency response efforts both onshore and Offshore, managing fire suppression operations, conducting rescue operations, and providing medical assistance when needed. The Head division also plays a crucial role in fire prevention, implementing safety protocols, conducting inspections, and educating the community on fire safety measures.


The main purpose of the head division/Fire Chief is to respond both onshore and offshore to emergencies/ Fire Protection, specifically fire incidents, and ensure the safety of individuals by employing effective emergency response strategies and fire protection measures.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:


• Provide strong leadership both onshore and offshore to the emergency response team, ensuring clear communication, efficient coordination, and effective decision-making during emergencies.


• Develop and implement strategies planning to enhance emergency response capabilities, considering factors like resource allocation, risk assessment, and response protocols.


• Manage and supervise a team both onshore and offshore of emergency responders, ensuring proper training, performance evaluation, and fostering a positive work environment.


• Develop and maintain emergency response plans both onshore and offshore, including evacuation procedures, fire prevention strategies, and disaster recovery plans.


• Assume the role of incident commander during emergencies, overseeing response operations, coordinating with external agencies, and ensuring the safety of personnel and affected individuals.


• Organize Drills and facilitate training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of emergency response personnel, including fire suppression techniques, hazardous materials handling, and first aid.


• Ensure compliance with local and IMI regulations related to fire safety, emergency response, and occupational health and safety.


• Develop and manage the division's budget, ensure cost-effective utilization of resources, procurement of essential safety equipment, and maintenance of firefighting apparatus.


• Promote and conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential hazards, evaluate vulnerabilities, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies to prevent emergencies or minimize their impact.


• Collaborate with community promises, and businesses provide fire safety education, conduct drills, and promote awareness of emergency response measures.


• Oversee the equipment maintenance, inspection, and testing of firefighting equipment, such as fire trucks, hoses, breathing apparatus, and personal protective gear, ensuring their operational readiness.


• Ensure accurate documentation of emergency incidents, including incident reports, statistics, and analysis to identify trends, areas for improvement, and lessons learned.


QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:


• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Management/Fire Engineering / Industrial Security Management or related discipline.


• National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) certificate.


• Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) certificate.


• Certified Offshore and Onshore/Onboard firefighting accreditation


• Fire & Safety Equipment Inspector certificate.
