Job DescriptionOverview

Contracts Manager will oversee all contractual and commercial aspects of transportation/ rail / metro projects. This role involves managing contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, handling claims and variations, and supporting project teams to deliver projects on time and within budget.


Your role
  • Manage and administer contracts.
  • Review, negotiate, and finalize contract terms with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor project budgets, costs, and financial performance.
  • Prepare and review claims, variations, and change orders.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Provide commercial advice and support to project teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of contracts, payments, and correspondence.
  • Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and stakeholders to resolve disputes.
  • Prepare reports on commercial performance and contractual issues for senior management.
  • Ensure timely invoicing, payment collection, and financial reporting.
About you

Education


  • Bachelor’s/master’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Law, or related field.
  • Proven experience in contract management and commercial roles within road and infrastructure projects.
  • Strong knowledge of FIDIC, NEC, or other standard forms of construction contracts.
  • Proficiency in contract administration, claims management, and dispute resolution.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen and cost-control expertise.
  • Ability to interpret legal documents and contractual obligations.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software.

Experience


  • 5+ years of relevant experience in:
    • Railway infrastructure projects
    • Operations & Maintenance (O&M) contracts
    • Claims and dispute management
  • Hands-on experience with FIDIC/railway standard contracts
  • Prior experience in Metro Rail / High-speed rail / Freight rail O&M projects is highly desirable
