Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (NFVI & CNIS)



Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to design, deploy, manage, and optimize cloud-native infrastructure solutions, including Network Functions Virtualization Infrastructure (NFVI) and Cloud Native Infrastructure Solutions (CNIS). The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting virtualized telecom workloads, driving automation initiatives, and ensuring highly available, scalable, and secure cloud environments.

This role requires strong expertise in cloud infrastructure, virtualization technologies, automation, and scripting, particularly using Python, along with experience in telecom-grade environments and cloud-native architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Infrastructure Management

  • Design, deploy, and maintain CNIS and NFVI platforms supporting virtualized network functions such as SAPC, UDM, and PCG.
  • Ensure cloud environments meet requirements for scalability, high availability, multi-tenancy, and telecom-grade reliability.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure lifecycle activities, including upgrades, patching, and capacity planning.

Platform Optimization

  • Optimize performance and integration of third-party infrastructure components, including Dell EMC PowerEdge servers, HPE ProLiant servers, Juniper switches, and EMC PowerMAX storage solutions.
  • Monitor and enhance virtualization platforms and operating systems within the cloud environment.
  • Perform system tuning and resource optimization to maximize platform efficiency.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and related technologies.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Automate deployment, configuration management, monitoring, and scaling processes.

Network & Hardware Integration

  • Configure and integrate networking components, including Juniper, Cisco, and other data center networking solutions.
  • Support control-plane and data-plane integration requirements.
  • Ensure seamless interoperability between hardware and software layers.

Collaboration & Technical Support

  • Work closely with engineering, operations, and project teams to support 5G, IoT, and mission-critical applications.
  • Participate in solution design reviews and infrastructure planning activities.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, virtualization, networking, and cloud platform issues.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture diagrams.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, security policies, and cloud infrastructure best practices.
  • Support audits, compliance activities, and operational excellence initiatives.


Skills

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or related roles.
  • Hands-on experience with NFVI and CNIS environments.
  • Experience supporting telecom, cloud-native, or virtualization platforms.
  • Experience with automation and scripting tools such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
  • Familiarity with Ericsson Cloud Execution Environment (CEE) and Software Defined Infrastructure (SDI) is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of OpenStack, VMware, Kubernetes, and cloud-native technologies.
  • Understanding of virtualization, containerization, and cloud orchestration platforms.
  • Solid networking knowledge, including switching, routing, and data center architectures.
  • Experience with telecom-grade solutions, multi-tenant environments, and high-availability architectures.
  • Knowledge of storage systems and enterprise server infrastructure.
