Job description

The BMS Operator is a vital position within the Facilities & Property Management sector, specifically focusing on the management and operation of Building Management Systems (BMS) in airport facilities. This role is essential for ensuring that all building systems, including HVAC, lighting, and security, function efficiently and effectively, contributing to the comfort and safety of passengers and staff. The BMS Operator will monitor and control various systems, ensuring they operate within optimal parameters, especially in a high-traffic environment like an airport. This position requires a keen eye for detail, technical expertise, and the ability to respond swiftly to any system anomalies. The BMS Operator will collaborate closely with other facility management staff to maintain high standards of service and operational excellence, ensuring compliance with airport regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  1. Monitor and control the Building Management Systems to ensure optimal performance in airport facilities.
  2. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of BMS equipment and systems, focusing on airport-specific requirements.
  3. Respond to alarms and system alerts, troubleshooting issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  4. Coordinate with maintenance teams for repairs and upgrades of building systems, ensuring minimal impact on airport operations.
  5. Document system performance and maintenance activities for compliance with airport regulations and reporting requirements.
  6. Assist in the development and implementation of energy-saving initiatives tailored to airport operations.
  7. Train and guide junior staff on BMS operations and best practices specific to airport environments.
  8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all operations, particularly those relevant to airport facilities.
  9. Analyze data from BMS to identify trends and areas for improvement in airport system efficiency.
  10. Participate in emergency response planning and drills related to building systems in an airport setting.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Strong technical knowledge of BMS and related systems, particularly in airport environments.
  2. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, especially under pressure.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic airport setting.
  4. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on collaboration.
  5. Experience in facilities management or a related field, with a preference for airport experience.
  6. Proficiency in using BMS software and tools relevant to airport operations.
  7. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  8. Strong organizational skills and time management abilities, particularly in scheduling maintenance.
  9. Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies specific to airport systems.
  10. Commitment to maintaining high standards of service delivery in airport operations.
