About the job STRUCTURAL COMMISSIONING SPECIALIST - OFFSHORE

We are looking for an experienced Structural Commissioning Specialist to support offshore commissioning activities on an oil and gas project. The role is responsible for ensuring that all structural works are mechanically complete, inspected, verified, and safely handed over in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and applicable international standards.


Job Responsibilities


  • Support offshore commissioning activities related to structural works, including Primary and secondary steel structures, Jackets, modules, and topsides, Pipe racks, platforms, ladders, handrails, and supports
  • Verify mechanical completion and structural readiness for commissioning and handover
  • Review, validate, and close structural punch lists in coordination with construction and quality teams
  • Coordinate with construction, QA/QC, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth interface management and work sequencing
  • Witness and support structural inspections, load tests, and final acceptance of completed installations
  • Ensure structural works comply with approved drawings, project specifications, codes, and safety requirements
  • Verify installation tolerances, bolting, welding completion, coating touch-up, and as-built status prior to handover
  • Support preparation, review, and completion of commissioning dossiers, inspection records, and handover documentation
  • Participate in offshore safety meetings, toolbox talks, and commissioning readiness reviews
  • Monitor and report commissioning progress, risks, and technical issues to the Commissioning Lead and Project Management Team
  • Always ensure compliance with offshore HSE requirements and safe work practices

Key Qualifications:


  • Degree or Diploma in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in offshore oil and gas projects
  • Strong background in structural works during construction and commissioning phases
  • Hands-on experience with: Offshore jackets and topsides, Modules and pipe racks, Secondary steel structures (platforms, stairways, handrails, supports)
  • Good understanding of offshore commissioning processes and mechanical completion systems
  • Ability to work offshore on a rotational basis
  • Strong coordination, communication, and interface management skills
  • Good knowledge of offshore HSE regulations and requirements
  • Previous experience in a Structural Commissioning role on EPC offshore projects (Preferred)
  • Experience working on large offshore platforms and brownfield modification projects (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with commissioning databases and handover management systems (Preferred)
