Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy


  1. Understand the importance of revenue, productivity, chargeability and the client relationship and effectively apply this understanding to daily tasks.

2. Operations


  1. Responsible for delivering specified deliverables to clients in accordance with deadlines
  2. Ensure appropriate controls, policies and processes are adhered to
  3. Create and maintain relevant records
  4. Assist with implementing changes to procedures, guidelines, etc.
  5. Escalate client/work issues to Supervisor/Manager
  6. Assist other members of the team, giving guidance and mentoring, as required
  7. Collect appropriate data from clients and input into database as required
  8. Report to Supervisor/Manager, as required
  9. Answer questions in a timely manner
  10. Establish and maintain a good working relationship with clients
  11. Deal with or act on correspondence from third parties including authorities, lawyers, partners, etc.
  12. Support the implementation and updating of systems
  13. Various other miscellaneous tasks as instructed from time to time

3. Client service


  1. Support clients with service delivery matters
  2. Attend client meetings, as required
  3. Prepare client work in accordance with procedures
  4. Work with clients to ensure required data is received in good time
  5. Prepare and submit approved returns, submissions, accounts, reports et al as applicable

4. Financial and commercial management


  1. Post time accurately in the internal time management system keeping to relevant submission deadline
  2. Identify opportunities for additional work with clients, ensuring identification, understanding of requirement, delivery and billing thereof
  3. Ensure the correct reporting of time spent for work onportfolios

5. Technical Expertise


  1. Liaise with authorities, lawyers, trustees and TMF offices on technical issues
  2. Use specific software programs and maintain databases as required
  3. Develop technical knowledge through reading and attendance at appropriate (internal and external) training courses, seminars, etc

6. Team-based responsibilities


  1. Inputting information in system
  2. Assist with the review of work across all service lines, including HR and Payroll
  3. Review, test and reconcile the work and data received from third parties
  4. Set up and maintain computerized entity financial databases
  5. Banking, cash and cashbook maintenance
  6. Debtor and creditors maintenance and reconciliations
  7. VAT returns
  8. Monthly, quarterly and annual management reports
  9. Statutory reporting, including assisting in preparing AFS and populating withholding tax returns
  10. Implement onboarding of new clients
  11. Assist with the co-ordination of monthly and annual trackers
  12. Perform any other reasonable assignment requested by management
  13. Personal utilization of 85% - whereby 85% of hours are aligned to client work and service delivery

8. Key knowledge and experience


  1. Qualified Accountant (CPA, ACCA, CA) in recognized professional body;
  2. At least 4 years relevant experience gained from sizable CPA firm or multinational company; plus tax experience gained in major international professional firms is an advantage;
  3. Sound knowledge of international accounting practices (IFRS) and key updates;
  4. Self-motivated, well-organized and a strong sense of responsibility with positive working attitude;
  5. Excellent skills in use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office;
  6. Experience in QuickBooks, Zoho, SAP and other key accounting software is a differential;
  7. Good command of written and spoken English, Arabic will be an advantage.
  8. Other characteristics: reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a team
