Primary Purpose of the Job
Contractor Safety Officer will promote a positive health and safety culture within the workplace. Act as a focal point at site with regards to advising and guiding the operational teams on all HSE matters to ensure that the Company, contractors and all individuals comply with safety legislation and company policies, procedures and practices are adopted and adhered to.
Principal Accountabilities
1. Offshore based.
2. Assisting the HSE Management in the development and delivery of best in class Safety Management Processes.
3. Ensure the timely identification of potential hazards, evaluation of risks for all activities and development of effective tools to manage and reduce risk to ALARP.
4. Perform regular inspection and review of work activities for safe work practices (all HSE aspects). Pro-actively ensure that all activities in the day-to-day operations are executed with no harm to personnel the environment, equipment and in accordance with approved procedure.
5. Ensure compliance to PTW HSE requirements
6. Provides coaching to all personnel on HAT Program.
7. Ensure compliance to Life Saving rules.
8. Maintains a high visible safety presence on site.
9. Conduct the investigation of incidents to enable a continuous improvement and learning culture. Implement recommendations with sustainable solution.
10. Demonstrate visible and effective leadership by communicating a clear vision, setting out performance goals (such as HAT program & BeST) and consistently demonstrating the importance of HSE via personal involvement, visibility, decisions and actions.
11. Motivate, coach and develop staff towards improving HSE culture and behaviour.
12. Demonstrate excellent safety leadership and behaviour, ensuring that the company safety expectations are properly communicated and maintained.
13. Support the implementation of preventive and corrective action identified during Risk assessments.
14. Foster a safe culture by being informed, mindful, learning, fair and respectful.
15. Be aware of all Safety Critical risks (SCRA’s) and ongoing operational risks (ORA’s) and countersign any associated with safety impact.
16. Carry out safety auditing as per audit matrix and coach team members in behavioural safety.
17. Engage team in safety meetings and follow up outstanding actions in a timely manner.
18. Actively participates in reporting in Safety Observation program and STOP work authority.
19. Prompting and monitoring Tool Box talk.
20. Heat Stress Management at the site locations as per requirements.
21. Report all accidents / near misses and Investigate incidents and implement learnings effectively.
22. Provide HSE trainings as deemed necessary.
23. Participate in daily Operation meeting with base Office.
24. Participate in morning safety meeting all key site personnel’s
25. Providing input to leading and lagging safety performance measures.
26. Providing input during the collection of Lessons Learned for operational activities.
27. Leading and participating in HSE and Audits & Reviews.

28. Coordinate the Management site visits.
29. Liaising with Safety team, OIS, and Operations Supervisor(s) to improve HSE standards, procedures and increase awareness.
30. Conduct training sessions and drills to increase staff competency in accordance with established emergency response procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
• HSE professional qualification (NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent) and degree a plus. • 5 years’ experience, Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) laws, Regulations, policies and procedures, preferably related to the extraction and exploitation of Hydrocarbons.
• Experienced in HSE auditing.
• Must poses the ability to deliver effective safety training and coaching.
• Strong communication, influencing and interpersonal skills.
• Strong passion for HSE, drive to build and change HSE culture.
• Ensure Contractor HSE performance is at all times in compliance and in line with requirements and HSE Plan
• The highest levels of integrity and professionalism in the successful completion of your work and ability to take initiatives
