Job description

The MEP Technician plays a crucial role in the utilities sector, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This position requires a strong technical background and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams to ensure that all systems operate efficiently and effectively. The MEP Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting issues, performing routine inspections, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Responsibilities:

  1. Install and maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in accordance with industry standards.
  2. Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all MEP systems.
  3. Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to MEP systems promptly.
  4. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards during all operations.
  5. Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to optimize system performance.
  6. Document maintenance activities and prepare reports for management review.
  7. Assist in the training of junior technicians and new staff members.
  8. Participate in project planning and execution related to MEP installations.
  9. Maintain an inventory of tools and equipment necessary for MEP tasks.
  10. Respond to emergency calls and perform repairs as needed.

Preferred Candidate:

  1. Strong technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  2. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  3. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  4. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  5. Proven experience in a similar role within the utilities sector.
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  7. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  8. Commitment to safety and quality standards.
  9. Adaptability to changing work environments and technologies.
  10. Certification in relevant technical fields is a plus.
