To examine patients and diagnose to determine the need for surgery. Reviewing patients' medical history and planning the best procedure for treatment.
Evaluate and advise patients on the risk involved with having surgery.
Perform surgical procedures to prevent or correct injury, disease, deformities, and patient function while adhering to regulatory and ethical protocols.
Follow established surgical techniques during surgery.
Prescribe preoperative and postoperative treatments and procedures.
Ensures sterility in the operating room, and all equipment and instruments.
Direct and coordinate activities of hospital staff for proper patient care.
Oversee all treatments prior to and post-surgery, and identifying associated risks.
Maintain the highest regard for patient dignity and observing the precepts of the American Hospital Associations Bill of Rights for patients.
Plan and execute disease/illness prevention and health promotion programs.
Coordinate follow-up meetings with patients and monitoring their health condition after surgery or treatment.
Conduct research to develop and test surgical techniques in order to improve procedures and surgery.
Supports in professional development of all medical, technical and nursing staff in his/her area of expertise.
Participates in the various committees for the upgrading of patient care services and organization of work within and outside the hospital.
Participates in scheduling of on-call duties and provides on-call services.
Participates in the assessment and updating of drug, medical supply and equipment needs.
Writes, completes and approves medical reports for patients.
Participates in research activities.
Performs special procedures as privileged.
Adheres to policies, guidelines, plans and programs of the organization.
Performs other duties as assigned/directed by the Head of the department.
• Valid and in a good standing medical license to practice in country of residence.Provides high quality care to patients in this area of medicine.Communication skills to explain complex medical information, procedures, answer questions to patients and their families.Technical skills to perform procedures and analyze data.Technical skills to interpret medical records, scan patient data and interpret test results.Ability to think and act quickly in a stressful environment.Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.Perfect vision and visuospatial awareness.Compassionate and empathetic.Supervise staff/assistant physicians and residents The ability to work well alone and within a team.
• ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role.
