Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit an Executive Head of Secondary to join Compass International School in Doha, Qatar.


We are looking for an inspiring and experienced leader to manage and develop the Secondary School (Years 7–11) across 2 campuses, working closely with the Principal to deliver world-class outcomes for every student.


The role:


We seek an individual to join as Executive Head of Secondary where your focus will be:


  • Directing the planning of the curriculum and learning pathways for Years 7–11, including IGCSE option choices
  • Preparing students for the transition to Sixth Form at Themaid Campus, including the IB Diploma Programme and A Level pathways
  • Monitoring and maintaining high standards of teaching and learning across the Secondary School, holding staff to account
  • Overseeing student welfare, guidance, attendance, and the implementation of the Behaviour for Learning policy
  • In collaboration with the Principal, preparing and implementing an effective whole-school timetable
  • Managing the Secondary School budget and acting as cost centre holder
  • Overseeing the performance management of the Secondary teaching team
  • Providing effective induction and ongoing professional development for Secondary staff
  • Monitoring and evaluating academic progress and attainment data, ensuring timely and targeted intervention
  • Deputising for the Executive Principal as and when required
  • Working with the Director of Admissions & Marketing to support the growth of the school
  • Promoting NAE global initiatives including Global Campus, Nord Anglia University, MIT, Juilliard, and IMG Academy

The Successful Candidate will possess:


  • Bachelor’s Degree and recognised Teaching Qualification (Essential)
  • NPQH and/or a further degree in Educational Leadership, e.g. Masters (Desirable)
  • Evidence of continuous professional development and commitment to further learning (Essential)
  • Experience teaching and/or leading within the British curriculum (Essential)
  • Proven experience managing, leading, and developing individuals and teams (Essential)
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of effective teaching and learning theory, and its practical application to individual student needs (Essential)
  • Experience of timetable construction at Secondary level (Desirable)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders (Essential)
  • Knowledge of IGCSE, IB Diploma, and A Level curriculum pathways (Essential)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and experience leading safeguarding in a school (Essential)
  • Familiarity with ADEK and Qatar regulatory requirements (Desirable)
  • Compliance with visa requirements for working in Qatar and a current Enhanced CRB Disclosure or equivalent (Essential)
