Day-to-day Operations Job Description:
- Manage, guide, supervise, and inspect the construction of multiple DC plants independently. Ensure plant construction is performed properly in terms of quality, schedule, and budget in line with the EPC Contract.
- Monitor and coordinate all site activities as per project requirements. Ensure that other construction activities are coordinated with the overall activities in the plant.
- Monitors the work at site and liaises with the Owner’s Engineers, the local Contractors, if any, the local authorities, interface parties and the EPC Contractor.
- Contribute to the reporting of the EPC contractor’s activities at site and during the design review.
- Ensure the design requirements are reflected in the shop drawings and works are executed as per approved design.
- Ensure that agreed corrective actions to mitigate the effects of variances are planned and carried out.
- Manage and provide assistance to CAD for DC plant design development.
- Witness the hydro pressure test and water quality analysis and carry out material review for DC plant construction.
- Verify vendor invoices and raise & issue the sales order in the ERP system. Coordinate with Finance and follow up on payments with clients on time.
- Record, follow up purchase orders with various vendors for the delivery of major equipment.
- Coordinate with Customer Service and O&M departments for the commencement of cooling services.
- Supervise supply, installation, testing and commissioning activities up to project completion.
- Coordinate with customers and vendors to carry out the testing and commissioning of DC plants.
- Verify O&M and as-built drawings.
- Liaise with contractors and consultants for coordination with other services related to design and construction. Follow up with MEP contractor to ensure that construction is on schedule and in compliance with relevant guidelines and specifications.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering – MECHANICAL ENGINEERING with experience in District Cooling (Testing and Commissioning).
- Valid Qatari driving license
Minimum Experience:
- 5 to 10 years of relevant work experience in the field of construction of District Cooling utilities
- HVAC experience in design and construction of chilled water plant with capacity 2000 TR and above
Job-Specific Skills (Generic / Technical):
- Proficiency in English
- Strong communication and inter-personal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good knowledge of construction of underground chilled water piping, valve chambers, hydro pressure test & water quality analysis
- Good knowledge of QA/QC processes in construction management
- Good knowledge of industry practices, local regulations, specifications, international standards and new technologies
Computer literacy (AutoCAD and Microsoft Office in particular)
