Job Purpose 


To foster a collaborative, inquirydriven learning environment that supports the aims and philosophy of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and promotes the holistic development of all learners. 


Key Responsibilities 


Engagement & Professional Conduct 


  • Build positive, professional relationships with academic and administrative olleagues, students, and families. 
  • Contribute actively to meetings, collaborative planning sessions. And school initiatives. Attend wider community and school events held each year. 
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with parents and represent the school’s values and beliefs in all settings. 

Teaching & Learning 


  • Plan and facilitate engaging, conceptdriven, inquirybased learning experiences aligned with PYP expectations. 
  • Maintain high expectations for student behavior and create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning community. 
  • Collaborate closely with instructional colleagues within and across grade levels and subject areas to ensure coherent, transdisciplinary learning.. 
  • Use varied and differentiated, teaching strategies that promote curiosity, critical thinking, student agency and support students in meeting their full potential. 

Planning & Assessment 


  • Co-plan units of inquiry and integrate subject areas to support transdisciplinary learning. 
  • Use assessment data and formative assessment (AfL) practices to guide instruction and support individual learner needs. 
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback that helps students reflect on and extend their learning. 
  • Use student data to effectively inform differentiation strategies to target diverse learning needs within the classroom.. 

Professional Growth 


  • Engage in continuous professional learning related to IB pedagogy and school priorities. 
  • Reflect on teaching practices and contribute to a culture of growth and improvement. 
  • Understand and uphold school policies, procedures, and professional expectations. 

Professional Requirements 


  • Qualified teacher with at least two years of teaching experience. 
  • Strong understanding of inquirybased and transdisciplinary learning. 
  • Experience in international or bilingual settings (preferred). 
  • Ability to collaborate effectively, analyze student data to inform teaching, and use technology confidently. 
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 

Safeguarding & School Policies 


  • Complete required safeguarding training and uphold child protection standards. 
  • Follow all MET policies, including those related to health, safety, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
