We are currently recruiting Professional Interpreters and Translators for a full-time, hourly-based position supporting a governmental donor. This opportunity is onsite in Jerusalem and the West Bank.
Provide consecutive and simultaneous interpretation in:
Meetings with senior government officials
Field training environments (physically active settings)
High-level briefings and official functions
Deliver real-time interpretation for complex conversations, often requiring a high level of technical or sector-specific terminology.
Translate written documents (Arabic â English) across diverse fields with no page limit, including:
Legal, medical, military, engineering, HR, logistics, IT, and governmental texts
Official correspondence, reports, and legal documents
Meeting minutes (3-day turnaround)
Maintain accuracy, tone, and intent of the original documents through rigorous quality control and proofreading.
Utilize specialized knowledge in law enforcement and public safety terminology.
Collaborate closely with other interpreters, translators, and project managers to ensure language consistency and quality.
Be available for on-call assignments, including short-notice deployments.
Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct, especially in handling sensitive materials.
Days:
Jerusalem: Sunday–Friday
West Bank: Sunday–Thursday
Hours:
8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Overtime or fieldwork may be required with 20-hour advance notice
Minimum 2 years of experience in professional interpretation and translation.
Fluency in Modern Standard Arabic and English, both spoken and written.
Accredited degree in Translation, Linguistics, or a related field.
Proven ability to handle complex and technical language in at least some of the following sectors:
Legal, military, engineering, medical, HR, logistics, IT, and governmental
Experience in simultaneous interpretation with high linguistic accuracy.
Proficiency with translation technology tools such as CAT tools and interpreting equipment (preferred).
Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills.
Physically able to work in demanding field environments as needed.
All candidates must be based locally in Jerusalem, the West Bank or Jordan.
Preference will be given to candidates with prior experience in prior experience in government or security-related interpretation.
