What You'll Do


Primary responsibility is to perform feature testing for Database features. This includes understanding feature specifications early in the development cycle to create test specifications, test cases, and test plans under the guidance of architects.


Additional responsibilities will include isolating and troubleshooting issues and assisting developers in resolving them.


The candidate will need to collaborate closely with the architects/manager, Technical leads, and other team members. Proficiency in programming languages such as C, Shell, and Python is mandatory. A strong understanding of SQL will be an additional advantage. The ideal candidate should also be able to create feature, unit, and performance test cases, as well as automation scripts.


Who You'll Work With


Our team consists of approximately ten plus engineers with exceptional coding and debugging skills in Teradata. You will be required to collaborate closely within and between groups.


  • This team will have a dedicated focus on enhancing our market-leading database by developing core database features with stronger cloud-native capabilities.
  • We collaborate with several cross-functional agile teams that include Architects, Product Owners, Software Engineers, and other engineering groups to conceptualize, build, test, and ship database features.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate


Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field with over 2 years of programming and/or software testing experience in a product-based company.


Job Requirements:


  • Ability to understand product features and functionalities from design documents
  • Ability to write feature test specifications, develop the test cases and automate them, test bug fixes, providing assistance in debugging and isolating the problems
  • Experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
  • Experience working with Relational Databases (RDBMS) and SQL.
  • Understanding and designing test frameworks for testing
  • Working experience in Agile Software Development with exposure to test-driven development
  • Good technical/conceptual performance testing knowledge
  • Proficient in any of the scripting languages
  • Good knowledge of CICD and DevOps tools
  • Expertise in the utilization of AI and analytical tools based on the requirements

Key Areas of Responsibility:


  • Responsible primarily for the feature testing of database features.
  • Participate in understanding of feature enhancements and creation of test specifications, cases, and plans as needed. 
  • Develop test scripts using C language, Shell scripting, Python, etc.
  • Write technical documents that accurately describe unit test plans and reports.
  • Automate and execute tests according to approved test plans.
  • Aptitude for understanding complex software from the functional and technical perspectives.
  • Report progress against objectives on a periodic basis
