We are seeking an experienced Tableau Administrator to manage and optimize enterprise Tableau environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installation, configuration, performance tuning, security, and governance of Tableau Server/Online, ensuring high availability and seamless access to business intelligence solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Tableau Server Administration
Install, configure, and upgrade Tableau Server / Tableau Online
Manage multi-node Tableau environments and cluster configurations
Perform patching, version upgrades, and system maintenance
User & Security Management
Manage users, groups, and permissions in Tableau Server
Implement Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
Configure authentication methods:
Active Directory (AD)
LDAP / SAML / Single Sign-On (SSO)
Implement row-level security (RLS) and data access policies
Performance & Capacity Management
Monitor server performance (CPU, memory, background processes)
Optimize performance by tuning:
Extracts vs live connections
Caching strategies
Load balancing
Plan and manage capacity, scalability, and HA setups
Content & Environment Management
Manage content lifecycle (Dev → QA → Prod migrations)
Publish and manage dashboards, workbooks, and data sources
Maintain governance standards for reports and data usage
Monitoring & Troubleshooting
Monitor Tableau environment using:
Tableau Admin Views
Logs and monitoring tools
Troubleshoot:
Server issues
Refresh failures
Performance bottlenecks
Perform root cause analysis and issue resolution
Backup & Disaster Recovery
Implement backup and restore processes
Plan and execute disaster recovery (DR) strategies
Ensure high availability (HA) and failover mechanisms
Data Source Management
Manage connections to:
Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata, etc.)
Cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)
Optimize extracts and data refresh schedules
Automation & DevOps
Automate administrative tasks using:
Shell / Python scripting (tabcmd, REST APIs)
Integrate Tableau with CI/CD pipelines and version control systems
Manage deployments using tools like Git and Jenkins
Required Skills & Qualifications
Core Skills
5-9 years of experience in Tableau Administration
Strong experience with:
