General Summary:



Job Overview



As a member of Qualcomm’s Audio Systems Group, you will work on the forefront of on-device AI and multimedia technology. Your focus will be on the design and implementation of audio and speech signal processing solutions leveraging both signal processing and machine learning (ML). You will help architect and optimize the audio algorithms for deployment on next-generation Snapdragon platforms across mobile, XR, compute, IoT, and automotive markets.




Key Responsibilities




- Design and develop end-to-end software audio system, including both reference design and IP, with a primary focus on echo cancellation, noise suppression and speech enhancement algorithms.



- Create, prototype, and commercialize innovative audio solutions using both traditional signal processing and ML methodologies.



- Analyze and validate performance of audio subsystems to meet strict metrics for robustness, power, and stability on Qualcomm platforms.



- Implement, test, and troubleshoot fixed-point and floating-point algorithms, including ML-based audio features.



-Develop, optimize, and deploy audio ML models for audio applications, with a focus on inference efficiency across NPUs, GPUs, and CPUs.



- Perform model evaluation, quantization, and compression to enable fast, robust inference on embedded hardware.



- Collaborate with cross-functional R&D, systems, and integration teams for system use case verification and commercialization support.



- Perform acoustic performance testing and measurements; lead demo prototyping efforts.



- Work closely with internal engineering teams and customers to drive successful commercialization of audio technologies.



- Support diversity and inclusion within Qualcomm and exhibit adaptability in a dynamic, multi-tasking team environment.




Requirements




- Solid background in audio signal processing fundamentals.



- Proven experience in developing, implementing, and debugging audio algorithms using both signal processing and ML approaches.



- Strong programming skills in Embedded C/C++, Matlab, and Python.



- Experience with embedded platforms, DSP architectures, real-time operating systems, and software design patterns.



-Familiarity with different model architecture, CNNs, RNNs, U-Nets, Transformers, for use in audio applications.



- Expertise in both fixed-point and floating-point implementation.



- Demonstrated ability in audio system design, acoustic measurements, and performance analysis.



- Familiarity with DSP intrinsic and assembly programming is a plus.



- Excellent communication, presentation, and cross-functional teamwork skills.



- Quick learner, self-motivated, and capable of working independently across geographically dispersed teams.




Educational Qualifications




- Master’s or PhD degree in Engineering, Electronics and Communication, Electrical, Computer Science, or related field.





Minimum Qualifications:



• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Preferred Qualification:



· Knowledge of Audio features, Echo Cancellation, Noise Suppression and Speech enhancement algorithms.



· Familiarity with Qualcomm Audio framework



· Familiarity with Qualcomm SDKs and tools.
