Site Reliability Engineer

Job Brief:

We are looking for a Site Reliability Engineer who is responsible for managing, availability, scalability, security, reliability and operations on cloud, on-premise and/or data-center infrastructure for a range of projects and products.

Responsibilities

• Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services, from inception and design, through deployment, operation, and refinement.
• Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning, and launch reviews.
• Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.
• Scale systems through mechanisms such as automation; evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity.
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.

Minimum qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
2. Experience in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Go.
3. Experience with Unix/Linux operating systems internals and administration (e.g., filesystems, anodes, system calls) or networking (e.g., TCP/IP, routing, network topologies and hardware, SDN).
4. Systematic problem-solving approach, coupled with effective communication skills and a sense of drive.
5. Experience with cloud-native infrastructure (e.g. AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, load balancing, high availability, fault tolerance, autoscaling).
6. Experience with designing and implementing observability for distributed systems (e.g. New Relic, Prometheus, ElasticSearch).

Preferred qualifications

• Expertise in designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems.
• Experience designing and developing software oriented towards systems or cloud automation.
• Experience in implementing and enforcing SRE principles and practices.
