Job Overview:
We are looking for a Senior General Manager (SGM) Supply Chain for our client, who lead the end-to-end supply chain function, including procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory, and distribution. The role focuses on developing and executing effective supply chain strategies to support organizational growth, operational efficiency, and cost optimization, while also serving as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on vendor management, compliance, and supply chain innovation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute integrated supply chain strategies across procurement, logistics, warehousing, inventory, and distribution.
- Lead strategic sourcing and vendor management to ensure cost efficiency, quality control, and long-term supplier partnerships.
- Implement ERP/SAP-based supply chain systems, dashboards, and analytics for improved visibility and planning accuracy.
- Ensure regulatory compliance, contract governance, and smooth import/export operations with government liaison where required.
- Provide strategic advisory support to the CEO on supply chain health, market risks, procurement opportunities, and CAPEX planning.
- Collaborate with Finance, Commercial, and Operations teams to align supply chain with business performance goals.
- Lead and develop high-performing supply chain teams with strong succession planning and performance culture.
- Drive sustainability, green sourcing, and ESG-aligned logistics optimization initiatives.
- Represent the organization in vendor negotiations, regulatory meetings, and industry forums.
- Lead supply chain innovation including automation, digital tracking, and continuous process improvement.
Qualification & Experience:
- Master's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration (Preferred)
- Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration (Required)
- Professional certifications such as CSCP / CPIM / Six Sigma Black Belt will be an added advantage
- Minimum 15+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, and logistics functions
- At least 5 years in a senior leadership role at group, conglomerate, or large-scale organization level
- Experience in Construction, Manufacturing, Cement, Fertilizer, FMCG, or Paper & Board industries preferred
Technical Skils:
- Expert-level proficiency in SAP / ERP-based Supply Chain Systems
- Strong expertise in end-to-end supply chain management (procurement, logistics, inventory, distribution)
- Advanced knowledge of data analytics, KPI development, and performance dashboards
- Strong capability in strategic sourcing, vendor management, and category management
- Experience in financial modeling for procurement, inventory, and cost optimization
- Knowledge of import/export operations, customs regulations, and logistics compliance
- Expertise in contract management and supply chain governance
- Hands-on experience in demand planning and forecasting systems
- Familiarity with automation, digital tracking, and supply chain digitization tools
